Certified Professional Organizer
Goodbye Clutter, New York City
I'm Nancy Heller, a born and bred New Yorker. Except for college and a brief 2-year stint in Italy, I've lived here my entire life.
I'm married, have a daughter, and I have a life-long passion for interior design, reading, cooking, theater, travel, and hanging out with friends. I LOVE to laugh (I consider it essential), but I also have a serious side, too.
I have 2 degrees – one in interior design, and the other in medical technology. I've been a graphic artist and a medical technologist, but neither profession has fulfilled me in the way that professional organizing has. I earned my Certified Professional Organizer designation in Feb. of 2021, and I earned my CPO-CD designation after a rigorous 18-month program from ICD.
I have ADHD, which was diagnosed as an adult when my daughter was being evaluated for ADD; it explains so much! Living with a messy husband and daughter, and my own ADHD, I've had to figure out strategies to make life more manageable….and I did. ADHD no longer defines me, and I consider it one of my greatest strengths. It's what makes me, ME – creative, and spontaneous; I love teaching skills to those with similar challenges.
My background in technology (left brain) and design (right brain) – speak to my ability to be both analytical AND creative. I'm able to solve complex organizational challenges as a detail-oriented observer, and as a creative who has an eye for aesthetics, comfort and functionality.
And finally (I'm asked this question often), How did I become a professional organizer? When my daughter was born, we were living in a 1-bedroom apartment. We lived there until my daughter was 8. My friends marveled at how my home looked clutter-free, and they asked me to help them with their apartments. And VOILÁ……My business was born.
